Overview. For many people, religion is a large part of life whether it be because of one's culture, family, or simply an enlightening experience. For others, religion is meaningless, unfamiliar, or something that they are involuntarily involved with. For those who choose to participate in religious practices, religion can serve as a means of purpose--proving some people with the answers to the wonders of the world. Faith can guide people through life, giving people the courage and strength to make it through the trials and tribulations of life. For those who choose not to participate in religious culture and practice, alternative means can be found to serve the same purposes that religion often does.
