Auschwitz Auschwitz located in Oswiecim Poland was the largest most deadly of the death camps It was established by the chief of the SS Heinrich Himmler in April 1940 It included three camps in one a forced labor camp a concentration camp and a death camp Its population was about 10900 that consisted of mostly Poles In 1941 death camp
