1 The NDA has section 251 approval to collect patient identifiable data meaning there are no legal obstacles to participation Participation is endorsed by professionals RCGP and people with diabetes Diabetes UK However people with diabetes must be made aware that their service is participating in the NDA this is known technically as fair processing It does not mean that patients have to consent individually
