importance of sulfate free shampoo: Transcript

After a quick walk through the hair care isle at your local store something caught your eye In fact youre noticing it on more and more bottles of shampoo and conditioner A sign or sticker on the bottle that says SULFATE FREEbr brBut what is a sulfate Why is it important that your hair care products are sulfate freebr brSulfates are chemicals used as cleansing agents and until recently could be found in quite a lot of bottles of shampoo and conditioner The two main types of sulfates used in hair care products are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Your hair is uniquely your own. With a different style, colour, texture and growing cycle, no one in the world will have hair exactly like yours, not even those in your family. What that means is that you’ll have to put time and effort into perfecting your hair care routine, to prevent as little damage as possible and help your hair thrive in its natural state. Your hair needs a surprising amount of maintenance in order to truly thrive, but your daily hair care routine could be causing more damage than you think. If you use blow-dryers, straighteners, elastic hair bands, too much dry shampoo and occasionally brush wet hair, your hair could be in trouble. Hair damage occurs through friction, heat and harsh chemical treatments, like colouring. It’s important to wash your hair, especially if you use a lot of styling products and heat tools. Shampoo can effectively remove dirt, oil and product build-up from scalp and revitalise your locks. How often you choose to wash your hair depends on your hair type and the kind of shampoo and conditioner you use. If your shampoo and conditioner is from a conventional brand, there’s a chance it is full of silicones, parabens or sulfates, and made from low-quality materials. Individually, they can each be harmful to your hair, but sometimes a combination of these ingredients are blended into a product that will cause severe damage to your hair, and tricks it into looking clean when it is not. When you look at the list of ingredients on your bottles of shampoo and conditioner, how many do you actually recognise and understand? Most people pick and choose their hair care products based on the promises made on the front of the bottle, and never bother to read the ingredients on the back. That can be very harmful to your hair, because if the shampoo is full of synthetic cleaning agents, it will do more harm than good. Run your hands through your hair from root to tip, but pay close attention to your ends. How do they feel? Are they soft and smooth, or are they rough, frizzy and split? If your ends are on the damaged side, your hair is in immediate need of some hydration. Coloring your hair is not only a confidence booster, it can emphasize texture and add lustre to your hair. The only thing you need to consider after changing your hair color, is that you might need to change the hair care products you use as well. Shampoos and conditioners are made with your hair in mind, taking into account your color, the texture of your locks and what it needs the most to thrive. By changing your color, you must have a shampoo that will help maintain that color and provide your hair with essential nutrients after putting it through a chemical process. You’ll definitely want a sulfate free shampoo and maybe even a hair growth shampoo, to ensure your hair is healthy and strong. The trick is finding a product that can do both, but there is a well-known ingredient that can… Biotin! If you don’t know what a “sulfate” is by now, your hair is in serious trouble. Put simply, sulfates are the key ingredient to making a shampoo bubbly. The two kinds of sulfates you’re most likely to find in your hair care products are sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. When used in shampoo, sulfates cleanse all kinds of dirt, oil, product build-up and dead skin cells from your scalp, and washes it away with water, taking away the nutrients your hair needs to thrive. It’s time to take a closer look at your favourite products in order to make the best choices for your hair, and switch to a sulfate free shampoo. How many different shampoos are you currently using? And no, different scents don’t count. If there is only a single bottle of shampoo in your shower, your hair is in big trouble and that care routine of yours is in desperate need of a revamp. For your hair to truly thrive, you should be alternating between at least two shampoos: a regular shampoo and a purifying shampoo. Purifying your hair is also known as detoxing, and it’s super important for your scalp. What you might not know is that it’s different from simply washing your hair with regular shampoo, and if you haven’t done it before, you’re in for a shocking surprise It’s time to start thinking about your hair the way you think about your body: in order for it to thrive, it needs vitamins, minerals, nutrients and lots of care! If you want to have long, strong and beautifully healthy hair, the same rules need to apply. While your body absorbs minerals and nutrients from the foods you eat, and this does affect your hair as well, your shampoo and conditioner have an even bigger impact. If your hair is dry, suffering from split ends, burnt from overusing heat styling tools or just feeling dull overall, you are in desperate need of a moisturising shampoo and a revitalizing shampoo. Luckily biotin can do both, bringing noticeable life back to your hair from the first wash. Do you remember when you first started washing your hair? Chances are, you wash your hair because you’ve always done it, but never really thought much about why. That’s ok, but if you truly want beautiful, healthy hair, it’s not as simple as wash, condition, repeat. A hair care routine needs to be delicately crafted to suit your hair colour, texture and length. In the end, your wash schedule, the products you use and way you style your hair will make your hair care routine as unique as you are. If you aren’t sure where to start, or where you can improve your hair care routine, don’t stress. There are so many small changes you can make to improve the health of your hair long term, but to start seeing those changes today, you should get your hands on a restorative shampoo or clarifying shampoo. Thinning hair is not something to be embarrassed about. In fact, it is much more common than you think, effecting both men and women alike. You might feel like there is nothing you can do to prevent your hair from continuous thinning, but you’re wrong! First, try and identify what is the cause of your hair thinning. In reality, hair thinning can be caused by a multitude of factors, including but not limited to: family history, hormonal changes, medical conditions, a side effect of supplements, stress, certain hair styles or harsh treatments, age, weight and poor nutrition. Although there are many common causes for hair thinning, it’s not always easy to pinpoint the exact cause of why this is happening to your beautiful hair. Luckily, even if you are experiencing hair thinning due to genetics, there is one important thing you can do to help prevent and fight against hair thinning, while strengthening your locks… Grab a bottle of the best shampoo for thinning hair: natural biotin shampoo. How many strands of your hair fall out in a day? Haircare experts say losing up to 100 strands is normal, but anything more than that could be a sign that you’re losing your hair. Don’t be alarmed, because hair loss is extremely common, but of course, that doesn’t make it any less frustrating or embarrassing. While it’s no surprise that hair loss affects both men and women alike, statistics show it happens to 1/3 of the global population, and it tends to be more common in men. Hair loss is much more common than you think, equally affecting both men and women. This can be caused by genetics, stress, medications, diets, overuse of heat styling tools and vitamin deficiencies, amongst other issues. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as the perfect hair care formula or special product that will give you beautiful, healthy hair in an instant. There is, however, a combination of natural ingredients that will help your hair become the best it can be, whatever your hair type. If you already put so much time and effort in finding the right shampoo for your hair type and needs, the same must be done for your conditioner too. It should come down to a lot more than just picking up the same brand and scent to match your current bottle of shampoo. Using the right conditioner is important because it will help moisturize your hair and prevent future damage.
